31/3/1824 Hereford Journal Herefordshire, England: OXFORD CIRCUIT Death Recorded—Edward Meyrick for stealing five sheep from meadow in the liberties this city, the property of Mr. W. S. Prosser. 1830-33 Musters: Assigned to Mr. G. Clark 31/5/1830: Permission to marry Elizabeth Broadway (Mermaid 1828). 6/9/1830: Married at Hobart Town - 10/12/1831: Son John Edward born, he married Margaret Grahen/Grehen, who died 1882 at Lara (they had 8 children) - John died 7/5/1905 at Lara, Vic. 1835 Muster: TOL 16/11/1836: CP 15/3/1838: Free Pardon. No date of death found for Edward.

Billeted out to early settler's farm as farm hand. He and fellow convict, Elizabeth Broadway, overheard bushrangers plotting to kill the farmers so rode back to farm to warn them. Both convicts were pardoned and wer granted permission to marry in 1830. They had 1 daughter (Cath Meyrick) born in 1835 in Tasmania. In 1840 they moved to Little River, Victoria (btwn Melbourne and Geelong), where Edward worked as cart and dray man, escorting people to the goldfields.
