On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. 1825, 18 July: Michael QUINN (1) is “returned”/released from Port Macquarie (see NSW, Australia, Convict Records, 1810-1891; Port Macquarie Penal Settlement; Port Macquarie: List of Convicts, 1822-1825). This is also the date of his receipt of a Certificate of Freedom (see below). 1825, 18 July: Michael QUINN (1) – Certificate of Freedom #65/4023 – Mary 1, 1819; convicted Dublin County, July 1818, 7 years; native place Dublin; servant; 22, 5’4¾”; ruddy complexion, brown hair and dark eyes. Remarks: Sent to Port Macquarie March 1824 for the remainder of his original sentence for burglary (see NSW, Australia, Certificates of Freedom, 1810-1814, 1827-1867).
1824, 1 March: Michael QUINN (1) was convicted at Sydney and sent to serve the remainder of his original sentence at Port Macquarie (see NSW, Australia, Convict Records, 1810-1891; Port Macquarie Penal Settlement; Port Macquarie: List of Convicts, 1822-1825). 1825: Michael QUINN (1) – convict – Mary 1819, 7 years; government employment, Port Macquarie (see NSW and Tasmania, Australia Convict Musters, 1806-1849, New South Wales General muster M-Z 1825).
1819, 25 August: Michael QUINN 16, 5’3½”, florid complexion, brown hair, dark eyes, native place Dublin (see NSW Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Bound Indentures 1818-1819).
Michael Quinn, 16, is not to be confused with Michael Quinn, 30, from Mallow in Cork County (see Irish Convicts to New South Wales 1788-1849, by Peter Mayberry).
