Omagh Assizes. The following sixteen persons were capitally convicted, and sentenced to be hanged —no day fixed for their execution:— … for burglary…; James Miller and Robt. Dixon, for same, at the house of Daniel M‘Caughey; ... Belfast New-Letter, 22 Aug 1817.

James Miller, holding a ticket-of-leave, was charged with harbouring in his house Robert Gibson, a prisoner, absent from the Public Works. This man has been fined £15 before for like offence, and another information, of a similar nature, was withdrawn; yet, it seems, these lessons have not been a sufficient caution to him, and proves what a precarious livelihood keeping a common lodging house is. On this occasion he was fined £1 and costs. The Tasmanian, 19 Oct 1832.
