Old Bailey Online 062. PETER MILLER was indicted for stealing, on the 1st of June , 28 yards of printed cotton, value 25 s. , the goods of Joseph Taylor . GEORGE DODD . I am shopman to Joseph Taylor , who is a linen-draper , and lives in the Commercial-road . The print hung at the door. I was alarmed, ran out, and seized the prisoner. ANDREW DEVITT . I saw the prisoner come from the prosecutor's window with the print, and put it under his jacket. I informed Dodd, who ran out, and secured him in a court. I found the cotton in the court. (Property produced and sworn to.) GUILTY . Aged 21. Transported for Seven Years . Second Middlesex Jury, before Mr. Recorder.
