Baptised 18 Sep 1814 Frances Dedimus Mingay St Peter South Weald, Essex England. 7 Dec 1833 Essex Court Springfield convicted for stealing 10lbs of beef, a pound of pork and a pigs cheek belonging to William Collis of Swan Brentwood. Giving to receiver Samuel Bolingbrook, both received 3 months hard labour, one month solitary. 7 April 1835 Essex Court Springfield robbing a wagon of printed cotton material, after boasting at the hotel he could easily rob a wagon. The thiefs and receivers all transported, Francis 7 years. To the judge on the way out of court, "Thank ye, Sir, you,ve overdone it this time". Chelmsford Chronicle 17 April 1835. After a stint on the hulk Leviathan, sailed to Sydney NSW on the Susan arriving 7 Feb 1836. TOL 9 May 1841. Married Mary Ann Keating (Minerva 6) 27 Mar 1845 at Kelso Bathurst NSW, the family lived in Carcoar NSW. Three children, and land had been purchased in Mary Ann's name 1855 when Francis died a couple of days after falling of a dray, heavily intoxicated 20 April 1855. He is buried at Kelso Cemetery, New South Wales.

At the time of his death Francis' occupation was that of a carrier & his death was the result of an accident. His birth name was Francis Decimus Mingay

Francis Mingay came from South Weald. He had a previous conviction for Felony. 1841: TOL 17/2/1843: COF 1845: Married Mary Ann Keating at Kelso near Bathurst. They had 2 children, Francis (B? died 1901) maried Johanna Coppock in 1870 at Orange and a daughter also Mary Ann B 1850.
