Convicted at Chelmsford, Essex, England for stealing turkeys from William Goodchild. Thomas is single can't r/w unable to determine previous convictions. With John French 24 y/o, married 2 children, prev 1 yr Bury Gaolwith they stole the birds and received 7 years each. John Smith 25 y/o he got 14 yrs as he was one of the receivers, was married 3 children had previously been in a house of correction. All three held on the Leviathan hulk at Portsmouth from 21 Jan to 1 Jun 1837, then to the Charles Kerr 6 Jun 1837, departing English waters 6 Jun 1837. Cert of Freedom 37/2242 18 Mar 1855, Ticket of Leae 4 Jan 1845 to remain in Bathurst. His brother, Francis Dedimus Mias/Alias Mingay, convict on the Susan arriving 7 Feb 1836, living in Carcoar. They both died April 1855 Thomas by accident according to inquest by accident 21 April 1855. Francis 20 April 1855 buried Carcoar. One newspaper report about a drunken fall and subsequent death for a "man Mingay".
