Family connections for William (Minifie/Hannaphy) are: MINIFIE/HANNAPHY Richard (Minifie) arrived in Australia as a convict in 1791 on Fleet ship WILLIAM AND ANN; it appears that he is also recorded in documents as Richard (Hannaphy). He had a relationship with Elizabeth/Betty (Thomas her second (2of3) relationship) Richard (Minifie) does not have an entry on this Website as yet, nor does Richard (Hannaphy). Elizabeth/Betty (Thomas) was born in 1770 & baptised on 7 1 1771 at Stoke Damerel Devon. She was tried, w/a Mary (Thomas), for stealing/receiving goods of Mary (O'Brian) & Roland (Rowland) at Exeter Devon Assizes on 27 8 1791, sentenced to 14years, held on hulk DUNKIRK at Plymouth Harbour & Newgate Prison & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 1 1793 after a voyage of of 6months on BELLONA. She had a first relationship (1of3), seemingly on board the female-only hulk DUNKIRK, & produced a child. She married thirdly (or merely had an enduring relationship with) John (Baylis) about 1796. She is recorded in 1828 as Free by Servitude w/her husband at Richmond, but recorded incorrectly as from BATAVIA 1793 with sentence 7years. She died on 30 8 1832 age62 mother of 4known children, all boys. Richard (Minifie) & Elizabeth/Betty (Thomas) produced 1child: 1.William (Minifie) was born on 10 11 1794 & baptised on 25 12 1794 w/Joseph (Thomas) at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He married Lucy/Louisa (Ezzy) on 2 9 1816 at St Peters CofE Richmond. He was recorded in 1828 as (Hannaphy)-a farmer. He died on 16 1 1847 age52. ..Lucy (Ezzy) was born on 19 3 1798 & baptised on 22 6 1798 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. She was living in home of John (Bolton) with her mother in 1814. She died on 25 7 1875 age77. ..Details of Lucy (Ezzy)s family are shown in entry for William (Izzy ROYAL ADMIRAL 1792) on this Website. ..William (Hannaphy) & Lucy (Ezzy) produced 2children: (perhaps the William's (Minifie) & (Hannaphy) are the same person) ..1.Louisa (Hannaphy) was born in 1825. ..2.Jane (Hannaphy) was born on 24 2 1827 at Windsor & baptised on 27 5 1828 ag15m, as (Baylis), at St Matthews CofE Windsor. She died on 15 7 1840 age13.
