Convict Notes
Daniel Mitchell was transported to New South Wales on the Dart. He was born in Paisley, and was a soldier, formerly a weaver. From his convict number, he was transported in 1831. He had a history of absconding from work gangs. The brig Dart was not a convict ship but had been used to transport convicts from Mauritius in 1834. "On Wednesday, the brig Dart, Griffin master, from the Mauritius, whence she sailed May 11th. Cargo - 9 tons of sugar. Two male and two female convicts from the Mauritius, were forwarded by this vessel." Sydney Monitor, Sat 12 July 1834.
