Family connections for William (Mitchell) are: MITCHELL William (Mitchell) arrived in NSW as a convict on 21 8 1791 after a voyage of 6months on Fleet ship SALAMANDER; he was sent to Norfolk Island in September 1791 & died on 9 4 1793: making a mess of the rest of this paragraph = . He enlisted in NSW Corps in Sydney & was detached to (Townson)s company in 1800. He was promoted in 1800 to Corporal with (Johnston)s company in 1801 & was granted 60acres on Norfolk Island. In 1802 he was demoted to Private. In 1805 he was serving at Parramatta. It may be he who had a relationship with Mary Ann (Boyle her second relationship)).>>> He was promoted to Corporal again in 1808 & detached to (Savory)s company. In 1809 he was promoted to Sergeant with (Brabyn)s company & 1Company. In May 1810 he returned to UK, demoted to private. (he may also have been the grantee of any of 50acres Georges River 1799: 110acres Bankstown 1800: 60acres Norfolk Island 1801. He died as an emancipist on 9 4 1803 on Norfolk Island. She was tried for stealing, on 30 4 1802, cloth of Peter (Forbes) at Middlesex Gaol Delivery, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict (pregnant) on 11 3 1803 after a voyage of 6months on HMS GLATTON. She had a first relationship on board ship with ??? (Rogers). She had a third relationship with Joseph (Stubbs her third relationship) & married as an emancipist on 21 8 1815 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. She died on 24 7 1835 age58 mother of 5children.
