Thomas was a Veternarian.




Thomas was christened at Hartfield, Sussex on 21 Mar 1819 the son of James, a broommaker, and one of eight children. In 1839 at age 23 he was convicted of horse stealing at Surrey Quarter Sessions and sentenced to 15 years transportation to Van Diemans Land. He embarked on the Mandarin at Spithead on 24 February 1840 and was recorded as being sick on the voyage and landed in Tasmania 30 Jun 1840. He died 1 October 1840 HM C Hospital Hobart Town
