1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

The Annotated Convict records state that Joseph Molloy was 17 years. He could read and write; religion Protestant; status single and a native of County Galway. He was an indoor-servant and a gardener's labourer. Joseph was convicted of stealing sacks (bags) on 29 December 1835 at Dublin City and sentenced to 7 years. He had one prior conviction and had served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 4 1/4 inches; complexion fair and pock pitted; hair brown and eyes grey. Transport number 46. Prisoner number 36-1951. Comment on indenture states 'an imbocile'. NSW 1837 General muster states that Joseph Molloy was assigned to i) Government Service in Sydney and ii) to Town Surveyor Department in Sydney. Received ticket of leave on 11 February 1841 (number 41/340). Received ticket of leave passport on 3 May 1841 (number 41/194) with the written condition that he was allowed to proceed to the Clarence River, Liverpool Plains in the service of Mr MacPherson and Mr Williams for twelve months.
