Eliza Molyneaux was born 1823 in Cork Ireland, to William Molyneaux and Susan Murphy. She was transported as a convict in 1839 on board the convict ship “the Minerva II” after being sentenced to 7 years for stealing a piece of cloth at the age of 16. She married John Facey (also a Convict) on the 2nd of November 1843 and required an NSW Convict Application to Marry. She was Married in Glebe NSW at the age 20 years. Her name on the Application was Eliza Molyneaux. Eliza received her Freedom Papers on the 4th of July 1846 aged 23.

Medical journal of the convict ship Minerva, for 18 August to 26 December 1839 by Patrick Magovern, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed in a voyage from Dublin to Sydney, New South Wales. Folio 10: Elizabeth Molyneux, aged 20; convict; case number 16; sick or hurt, contusio; put on sick list, 2 December 1839 at sea, discharged 9 December 1839.
