Mary Anne was 30 years when transported for "Stealing Linen". Her native place was Armagh. 17/10/1834: COF - Maitland 12/4/1831: Married Philip and had 3 daughters, Elizabeth, Anne and Sophia. Only Anne survived infancy, born 1834 and died 2/8/1913 at Charters Towers. Philip died in 1838 at Maitland, but no date of death for Mary Anne.




Mary Montgomery was convicted at Co. Down on 13/08/1827 for stealing linen. 7yr sentence. Transported to New South Wales, Australia on the 'Edward' 1829. Aged 30yrs; single; dairywoman; native place - Co. Armagh; 4'11"; freckled complexion; brown hair & eyes. Assigned to Joseph Warner, Newcastle, NSW upon arrival. 16/03/1831: application to marry Phillip Lamprey, Maitland, NSW.
