For Trial:—Benjamin Moody, and William Hart, charged with stealing two trusses of hay, the property of Robert Fisher, of Chittern; Salisbury Journal, 1 May 1837. Warminster Sessions —The following is a complete list of the sentences of the prisoners, whose various offences were noticed in our Journal of the 26th ult.: Transportation For Life: Richard Blake, Wm. Jeffery, and Eneas Blake, John Hobbs and William Axford, Joseph Gillett— Fourteen Years: Thomas Martin, Joseph Eacotts.— Seven Years: George and James Targett and George Loder, George Walters and Salter, Wm. Wise, Charles Read, William Hart and Benjamin Moody, Wm. Tandy, Henry Isaac Merrett, James Crouch, John Godwin, Christopher Marcham Salisbury Journal, 10 July 1837. During the week, the following convicts have been removed from Fisherton Gaol, and put board the Leviathan Hulk, at Portsmouth, in order for transportation :—George Waters, William Salter, William Tandy, John Godwin, Isaac Merrett, James Crouch, Henry Bowyer, Christopher Matchain, Benjamin Moody, William Wise, William Hart, and Charles Read. On his Conduct Sheet the last thing recorded is “free by servitude 27th Jun 1844”. An 1841 muster roll record, shows him employed at W.H. Bransgrove in Launceston.”
