Edward Mooney was transported to New South Wales per 'Earl Grey' 1838. Further offence at Maitland, NSW on 5 May 1841 for bushranging and having a firearm in his possession. Life sentence, commuted to 14 yrs. Sent to Norfolk Island 1 June 1841. 27 July 1841: Making false charges - 150 lashes & 2mths gaol. Further sentence on Norfolk Island 1843, for assaulting (attempt to murder)a fellow prisoner. Sentence of death, commuted to Life. 10 years spent at Norfolk Island. Extensive list of other misconduct notes and punishments. Transferred to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Lady Franklin' 1850. Sent to Port Arthur Penal Settlement for 6mths. More misconduct and punishments. Ticket of Leave granted 28 Feb 1860. 26 Sept 1860 at Oatlands, Tasmania - Assault & Robbery. Death sentence, commuted to Life. 1868 committed to Lunatic Asylum. 18 Feb 1886: Died, at the Lunatic Hospital, Cascades, Hobart.
