Mary Mooney was convicted at Kildare, Ireland on 25 March 1844 for vagrancy and previous convictions, 5 times in prison. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per ‘Phoebe’ arriving 2 Jan 1845.
Single woman; aged 20yrs; laundress; can read; Roman Catholic .
Native place - Kildare, Ireland.
Mother - Esther
Brother - Thomas, in the 89th Regiment.
6mths probation period in Colony.
Assignment of work services.
1846: Out after house - sent to Female Factory, Hobart.
1850: Absent - sent to Female Factory, Hobart. 6mths hard labour.
