James Moore was 17 years old on arrival in NSW. He was single and his native place was Londonderry. 23/2/1838: Tried at the Sydney Supreme Court for the Manslaughter of Cornelius Connolly, who was killed with a bludgeon, in a fight, he lived 7 days, they were all drunk at the time. Sentenced to Life and was then transported to Norfolk Island. 26/7/1845: Arrived VDL per Governor Phillip. James was now described as: A Stonecutter, 5'6 1/2" tall, 28 years old, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, red whiskers, hazel eyes, tattoos. Station of Gang: Long Point Emerged from gang: 6/2/1846 30/7/1850: CP 1847: Married Mary Ann Wright in Hobart. 1852: Tried at Oatlands VDL, for stealing a sheep, value 8s., and again sentenced to be transported for life. 30/7/1852: P Barracks 4/8/1852: Port Arthur. Found no death date (too many James Moore's).
