Indents, Early Convict Ships Indian John Pearce, Tried Surrey Ass. 28 Mar 1810, Life John Moore, Tried Surrey Ass. 28 Mar 1810, Life. -------------------------------------------------------------- SURREY ASSIZES. . John Moore, a lad of 13, was capitally convicted of setting fire to a rick of barley. the property of Mr. Haws, at Ewell, in this county. The Prisoner confessed that he took a candle from the lantern and set fire to the straw  surrounding the barley stack, and the only reason he assigned for this conduct was, became his master kept him late  at work. British Press, 3 April 1810.

Absolute pardon granted on 18 July 1817. He was a servant to Governor Lachlan Macquarie with his wife (cook) until 1822.
