Patrick Moore was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 31st Dec 1813 and arriving 28th Jul 1814 with 204 passengers.

Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

1 Dec 1817 The petition of Patrick Moore most humbly Sheweth That Petitioner arrived in this Colony in the ship Surrey in the years 1814 under the sentence of Transportation during the term of his natural life. That Petitioner since his arrival has been employed in the service of Mr Joseph Nettleton a Settler of the District of Appin, and has invariably conducted himself with strict propriety, diligence and attention and has hither to borne and will ever study? to preserve the character of an honest industrious and sober man. Petitioner therefore prays Your Excellency will be pleased with your usual gracious humanity to take his case into consideration and grant him such Indulgence as may in Your Excellency’ wisdom and Benevolence seem meet. And Petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray…. I believe Petitioner to be a sober steady and industrious man and beg leave to recommend him for a Ticket of Leave. (Signed ) Thos. Moore.
