Limerick Assizes Catherine Moriarty, indicted for stealing a piece of calico from the concerns of Messrs. Todd & Co. on the 21st June, was found guilty, and sentenced to 7 years transportation. Limerick Chronicle, 8 July 1843.




Born abt 1818 Limmerick Ciry, transported as a widow arriving VDL 2 July 1844, married John Martin (Cabinet Maker) 13 April 1846 which produced 6 children. Ticket of leave granted 2 May 1848, her brothers & sisters from the convict ident record: Patrick, Michael, Thomas, John, Sarah, Margaret, Mary & Ellen. Catherine died 28 Jan 1890 in Launceston.
