A further note regarding Marys's two sons- 14 year old John was transported onboard the Florentia in Aug 1827 and has his own entry. 10 year old William, after originally being held onboard the Justicia hulk with his brother remained there after his brother was transported and was transferred to the boys hulk Euryalus in September of that year. He remained there until he was 16 and then transferred again in 1832 to the (adult) hulk Cumberland (renamed Fortitude in 1833). He was finally released aged 17 on the 25/4/1834. [Lancaster Gazette 12th May 1827, p.3] 'County Quarter Sessions, Court House- Preston, Saturday 28th April. In order to complete the trial of prisoners, The court remained open until nearly 12 o clock this night, the following cases were disposed of amongst others in the course of the day. John Morin, 14 and William Morin, 10, charged with stealing at Preston two pieces of beef and one pair of shoes the property of John Mandel- 7 years trans each. Mary Morin, 40, charged with stealing at Preston a basket containing 7lb of butter the property of Richard Norris and another basket containing 5lb of butter the property of George Norris. 7 years trans.
