Mary Ann Morris was transported on the Anna Maria, departing 4th Oct 1851 and arriving 26th Jan 1852 with 200 passengers.
Built 1836 in Calcutta. Wood barque of 421 Tons. Master Edward Smith. Sailed from England 1848 with 190 men from Pentonville prison under the care of surgeon Dr Robert Stevenson, . Twenty seven prisoners deemed to fall into "second class" were disembarked in Hobart and granted tickets of leave on landing and the remainder were disembarked at Geelong with conditional pardons. Sailed from Woolwich on 6 October 1851 under surgeon W. McCrae with 196 female convicts, landing on 26 January 1852.

Certificate; 15 July 1858 Trade; Attending her family CHILD/REN; - Hammersley, Martha Jane - Hammersley, Lucy - Hammersley, William Henry Remarks The woman's child had been receiving funds from the Benevolent Society 1864 - 20 Dec. Obtaining by false pretense 47 yards of sheeting, Sentence; 4 months imprisonment and hard labour. 1883 - 31 July. Trial; Hobart. As Hammersley. Sentence; Larceny. 2 months hard labour

She married William Hammersley in 1853, who was a soldier in the 11th Regiment but was later transported from Adelaide to Hobart as a convict. She died in 1885
