County of Antrim Assizes. Charlotte Mortimer, for stealing 15s. in money and several articles the property of Geo. McTear. Margaret McTear, wife of Geo. McTear - Knows the prisoner- in November last she came to witness's house with another girl to lodge-she remained till December- witness had entrusted prisoner with the key of her box, and one day upon her return she found her box stript of its contents, and prisoner and her companion were gone- on the same night she found one of her handkerchiefs on the prisoner when she was taken to the police-office.-Guilty; seven years transportation. Belfast News-Letter, 27 March 1829.
