Peter died while working for the AA Company at Newcastle, NSW when as a night watchman he fell down a shaft. He married a convict woman by the name of Mary Moyles.

Peter Mottram arrived NSW 21st February 1829. Ticket of Leave was granted 15th November 1843. He was accidently killed while working as a night watchman for the A.A.Company Newcastle when he fell down a shaft on teh 4th June, 1846.
