The following record is confusing. The name listed is John Mulvihill, but the crime listed is that committed by John Muirhill, but both John Muirhill and John Mulvihill were originally tried in Kerry. Moreton Bay Convict Register. John Mulvihill, per Larkins 2, Tried Galway, Spring 1829, Offence, Manslaughter, Life sentence, Trade, Laborer. Colonial Sentence, Bench, Bathurst, 26 Jan 1831, for Accessory before and after the fact to the above [James Murray unlawfully and maliciously stabbing a horse the property of his master], 2 year sentence. Returned to Sydney, 16 Aug 1833. Description: John Mulvihill, native place, Kerry, age 24, 5ft 5½. Fair comp, brown hair, grey eyes. RC religion. (James Murray, per Larkins 2, was also sent to Moreton Bay, at the same time.)
