Catherine Murphy was convicted at Dublin City on 2 Jul 1842 for Stealing - a diamond pin - and received a 7 yr sentence. She was transported on the 'Waverley (2)', departing Dublin 4 Sep 1842, arriving Van Diemen's Land 15 Dec 1842. Gaol report: Good. Previously imprisoned twice. Single; 1 child; age 26yrs; Roman Catholic; Surgeon's Report: Well behaved. Native Place: Drogheda. Father of her child was stated as Michael Connelly (transported on the Isabella Watson). Last lived in Dublin. House servant; 4'11"; sandy hair; blue eyes. 11 Mar 1845 Drunk - 14 days hard labour. 16 Sep 1845 Application to Marry - John Johnson (convict per Egyptian).
