Married - 6 children Unable to read or write Trade; Servant Trial; 18 September 1837. Receiving stolen goods Remarks; " but shams fits. Has 2 children may be sent out before vessel sails"

Catherine Murphy was convicted at CCC, London 18 Sep 1838 for receiving stolen goods (a ring and money) - 14 yr Transportation sentence. She departed on the 'Majestic' 3 Oct 1838 from London, arriving 22 Jan 1839 Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania). Convict no. 51605. Native Place: Cork, Ireland. Age 49 yrs. Married. 7 children. 5' 1"; sallow complexion; black hair; blue eyes; servant. Served some time at Cascades Female Factory, Hobart. Ticket of Leave 24 Nov 1843. Conditional Pardon 12 June 1846. Husband: John ...well (Hornwell, Howell, Shorwell ?) also transported.
