Daniel Murphy, age 26, born 1802, native of Cork. Tried at Bengal, India in 1827, crime - rape and murder. Widower with 1 child. Ship Caroline, 1828. Soldier and servant on farm. Daniel Murphy was sent on the Caroline to New South Wales, from Calcutta. The ship stopped at Hobart, and the prisoners were then sent to Sydney on the Calista. Shipping Intelligence. On Monday arrived, from London, whence she sailed on the 1st of November, via Hobart Town on the 6th of April, the ship Calista, Captain Hawkins, with merchandize, and 100 Saxon, and 260 Derwent sheep. Passengers, Captain Bunster, and Messrs J. Andrews, J. J. Daker, D. Burn, C. Sladden, F. Watkins, and F. Anley, Mrs. Ridge, 2 children, and servant, with 4 steerage passengers.
