23rd Apr 1802 Kennedy Murray leaves Norfolk Is for Sydney,leaving Ann White behind, his sentence having expired on 1st Jan 1802. He was granted 30 acres of land to work outside of Sydney. He married Ann Parker with whom he had four children. In 1820 she was placed in Castle Hill Lunatic Asylum. In 1823 his children were admitted to the Cabramatta Boys Orphanage. Ann White then took up with Richard Sydes around 1803. They raised Kennedy and Ann's two children and had three of their own on Norfolk Island and another in Tasmania. They arrived at Port Dalrymple [now Georgetown]aboard the Lady Nelson 1st March 1813. They married in Launceston 14th March 1814.

Married?Anne White on Norfolk Island she was later declared insane and committed to Castle Hill asylum in Sydney and was the longest resident and died there date unknown by me Kennedy Murray moves to Northern Tasmania in the Evandale district




On arrival in the colony, Kennedy was sent to Norfolk Island. Here he formed a liaison with Ann White (Convict, Neptune, 1790). They had two children. The relationship evidently broke up in about 1802. In 1814, 14th March, Kennedy married Ann Parker (Convict, Glatton, 1803) and they had 4 sons.




Caledonian Mercury Wed 07 Dec 1785 p. 3 On Wednesday last, Kennedy Murray, William Stewart, from Edinburgh, William Macpherson, Thomas Witherspoon, and John Thomson, were apprehended at Glasgow and lodged in prison, for shop-breaking. [Source: British Newspaper Archive; database online] Caledonian Mercury Sat 23 Sep 1786 p. 3 Kennedy Murray was accused of theft, and having petitioned for banishment, the same was consented to, on account of his youth and some other favourable circumstances; and he was sentenced to transportation for fourteen years, and seven years service.




Died in Tasmania. Built Prosperous House in Launceston.
