Did not disembark VDL - continued on to Sydney. Joseph Mutch was listed as 27 years old on arrival. Native Place: Cheshire. Son of John Mutch and Hannah Williams. Brother of Jane Mutch; William Mutch and John Robert Mutch. Joseph was illiterate, single, 5'10" tall, ruddy freckled complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, scar of cut on left middle finger. 1836/37: Aged 29. Assigned to Robert Lethbridge, Prospect or Patrick Plains. 24/7/1839: TOL Patricks Plains 18/9/1841: Sydney - permission to marry Elizabeth Lee (Surrey II 1833) Joseph was 39 and had a TOL -- Elizabeth was 22 and on bond. 1841: Married at Scot's church, Sydney. No children listed on the NSW BDM 1/4/1841: CP 28/8/1846: COF 5/9/1849: Selling land at Branxton. (235 acres). 19/5/1855: Gave £1 subscription to establish a Catholic Priest in the district of Maneroo. 12/5/1866 The Australasian, Melbourne, Victoria: SHOULD this meet the eye of WILLIAM HALEWOOD, of Birkenhead, England, who came out in the ship Uroclidon (afterwards called the Greyhound) to Melbourne, he is reqauested to write to his uncle, Joseph Mutch, Delegate, N.S.W. Any information of his whereabouts will be thankfully received. 20/6/1877 Gippsland Times, Victoria: DEATH. MUTCH. -On the 23rd May, at his late residence, Delegate, Manaro, Joseph Mutch, aged 73, born at Liverpool, England.
