William Myers was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 31st Dec 1813 and arriving 28th Jul 1814 with 204 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

1818. The petition of William Myers most humbly sheweth That Petitioner arrived in the Colony in the ship Surrey (1) in the year 1814 under sentence of transportation for Life. That Petitioner since his arrival in this Colony has been employed in the several services of Thomas Moore, Esquire and Mr Isaac Knight of Liverpool with whom he has conducted himself in a steady, orderly and becoming manner and has invariably borne the character of an honest, sober and industrious man. Petitioner there for prays Your Excellency will be pleased with your accustomed humanity and generosity to take his case into consideration and be pleased to grant him a Ticket of Leave or such other Indulgence as may in Your Excellency’s wisdom and Benevolence seem meet And petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray…. I beg leave to recommend the Petitioner to Your Excellency as deserving a Ticket of Leave considering him a sober, honest and industrious man. (Signed) Thomas Moore.
