Stephen was transported three times: First on the Java; Then, after escaping and returning to Ireland, the second time per Blenheim, and the third time, per Navarino 2 having again been tried in Waterford City on 15 July 1842, and being sentenced to transportation for Life for returning from Transportation before the expiry of his term.

Waterford City Quarter Sessions.  Stephen Nash was indicted for stealing a silver watch and several articles of wearing apparel, the property of Hugh Leary. The prisoner pleaded guilty, and being old offender, was sentenced be transported for seven years. Waterford Mail, 19 Sep 1832.

Wed 8 Apr 1835 [Issue No.162] Page 203. Government Gazette Notices Principal Superintendent of Convicts' Office, April 7, 1835. THE undermentioned Prisoners having absconded from the individuals and employments set against their respective names, Stephen Nash,. Java, 33-3112, 27, Waterford, baker and confectioner, 5 feet 5½ inches, ruddy comp., brown hair, hazel eyes, two middle front teeth in upper jaw apart, scar right side of neck, scar back of fore finger of right hand, scar inside top of middle finger of right hand, mark of a burn back of forefinger of left hand, from W. Heyward, Bathurst-street, Sydney, since April, 5. 1842 - CON33-1-34 Image 138. No; 8312 Offence; returning from transportation before expiration of sentence from New South Wales.
