Castle Forbes arrived at Port Jackson, New South Wales on 27 January 1820. After their arrival in Sydney, 136 men were sent on to Van Diemen's Land Colony (now named Tasmania), arriving in Hobart 1 March 1820. 4 men remained in New South Wales and 4 deaths recorded on this voyage. Several colonial convictions noted in margin: S.C. 3 Dec 1833, 7 years. S.C. 30 Sep 1834. 7 years. Q.S. 15 Aug 1844, 2 years. ---------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, March 26th. Garrett Neale, was ordered to find sureties to take his trial on suspicion of having robbed John M'Kenna, commonly called " Nosy," of £11. The Tasmanian, 29 Mar 1833. -------------------------------------------------- POLICE REPORTS. Friday, June 28th. William Jones, Mary Layton, and Garratt Neale, fined 5s. for drunkenness. The Tasmanian, 5 July 1833. --------------------------------------------------- Supreme Court. Criminal Side. Tuesday December 3, 1833. (Before His Honor Mr. Justice Montagu.) Garrett Neale was convicted of larceny, and sentenced to 7 years transportation. The Tasmanian 6 Dec 1833. Garrett Neale and John Knott, were charged with breaking and entering the dwelling house of William Hardy, on the 5th of August last, and stealing therein, one jacket, one waistcoat and trowsers, and five shillings in half-pence. Verdict - Guilty, on the first count, which charged the prisoners with larceny. - Sentenced to be transported for seven years.
