Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry John Neil, alias Neill, O’Neil, Neal, Neale, age on arrival, 27, per Lord Eldon, 1817, Tried at Cumberland QS, England, 1816, 7 years. DOB 1790, native place, Antrim Co. Trade, Brick moulder. And yesterday John Neil, of Botchergate, labourer, a notorious character, was committed to gaol by Dr. Heysham, charged upon oath with feloniously stealing at Warwick, in the parish of Warwick, and at Warwick Bridge, in the parish of Wetheral, several articles of wearing apparel, viz.: Shirts, frocks, caps, &c.; the property of various inhabitants of the said parishes of Wetheral and  and Warwick. Carlisle Patriot, 31 Aug 1816.
