Daniel Newman was transported, along with James Nuth, for stealing dishes and platen. James was also on board the Caledonia. Daniel last lived at Bath. 1830-33 Musters: Public Works 10/12/1832: TOL 1832: Was an Overseer at the Public Works 1835 Muster: Transported to Port Arthur. 4/5/1837: TOL 19/7/1837: CP 20/7/1841: CP 22/11/1843: Supreme Court – 12 months imprisonment. 18/1/1846: CP extended to include all the Australian Colonies. 31/3/1846: Permission to marry Sarah Jacobs (Mermaid) approved. Cannot find them as a married couple – many Sarah Jacobs to track.
