Tasmanian Record. CON13-1-2 Image 98. Colonial Secretary Office. Letter dated 14 March 1821, giving Ann Newport permission to proceed to Van Dieman’s Land by ship St Michael, for the purpose of entering into the service of Mr Peter Raine. Confirms that Anne Newport arrived per ship Catherine in 1814, tried at Dublin in July 1813, and received sentence of transportation for 14 years.
