He was tried at York city Assizes on 6 3 1819, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW on 5 2 1820sic (leaving UK on 5 6 1819) after a voyage of maybe8months on ATLAS; he was Protestant; he was sent to Parramatta on 30 10 1819sic. He is recorded, as John (Newshaw), as being moved to Newcastle on 30 10 1819sic. He is recorded as a former overseer at the Male Factory & further recorded as working for Rev Samuel Marsden from 1819. He married with permission, given about 20 5 1824, Cordelia (???/Knight her second marriage) on 20 5 1824 or 21 6 1824 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He is recorded in 1825 with his wife at Parramatta. He was issued his Certificate of Freedom on 9 3 1826. In 1828 he is recorded as Free by Servitude schoolmaster with his wife at Windsor. She married firstly Thomas (Knight) on 5 6 1810 at Bloomsbury St George Camden London & produced 4children. She was tried w/1other for theft of silk etc, on 6&12 6 1821, of Thomas (Craig) & John (Graham) at Old Bailey in June 1821, sentenced to death commuted to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict without her husband but with her children on 27 2 1823 after a voyage of 5.5months on LORD SIDMOUTH. She placed 2children into Female Orphan Institution on 12 11 1823. She married secondly with permission John (Newsome) on 20 5 1824 or 21 6 1824 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. She is recorded in 1825 with her husband at Parramatta. In 1828 she is recorded with her husband at Windsor. She was issued her Ticket of Leave on 27 12 1830 & exempted from labour. She was issued her Conditional Pardon no.29 in 1850. She died in 1853 age about58 at Parramatta mother of 4children & was buried on 16 5 1853 at St Johns CofE Parramatta.
