Coventry Standard Warwickshire, England 7 Apr 1837 SENTENCES OF THE PRISONERS Samuel Nicholls, stealing wearing apparel from Henry Humphries, of Birmingham. Samuel was listed as Nichols on records in NSW. Samuel Nichols was listed as 23 years old on arrival. Native Place: Birmingham. Occupation: Gun furniture filer. Samuel was literate, Protestant, single, 5'5ΒΌ" tall, sallow complexion, light brown hair, brown eyes, lost two upper front teeth left side, scar on bridge of nose, scar beneath under lip, scar outside right leg. 27/1/1844: TOL Newcastle - Listed as Nicholas 16/3/1848: Newcastle Court of Petty Sessions Letter Book Details: Samuel Nichols ticket of leave holder for Newcastle district being unable to procure employment at his trade the Magistrate submitted to Headquarters for approval Nichol s request that his ticket be altered from Newcastle to Sydney. 2/5/1848: TOL altered to Sydney for so long only as he remains in the service of Mr. Arthur Gradely, Ironmonger, Pitt Street. 23/3/1837: CP - Samuel was 34.
