Dau of Joseph WARD (nail maker) and Eleanor WALKER of Chester, Cheshire, England. Married John NIXON (weaver) 17 Apr 1809 @ St John the Baptist, Chester. Tried for stealing cloth (together with Samuel LUPTON and her father Joseph) from a cart, 16/Apr/1816. She and Lupton convicted to transportation. Joseph not guilty. Offence took place 22nd Mar 1816. Court report Chester Chronicle: 26 April 1816 Page 1. This was her second conviction inside six months! Guilty in August 1815 of stealing a hat and sentenced to four months' imprisonment.
