Ann Eliza (Chapman) was born in 1800 & baptised at St Phillips Sydney. She married Hector Hugh Innis/Hugh Hector J (Noble) in 1820 at Sydney & produced 7children 1821-1840 (see below) at St Phillips Sydney & St Thomas Port Macquarie. She died at Ipswich 1875 age75. Hugh Hector (Noble) & Ann Eliza's children include:- Margaret born in 1821. She died 1853 age32. Ann Eliza born&bap.St Phillips Sydney in 1823. She died in 1893 age70. William Alfred born&bap.St Thomas Port Macquarie in 1825. He died 1906 age81. Alexander Luke born&bap.St Phillips Sydney in 1827. He died 1907 age80. Jane Ann born&bap.St Phillips Sydney in 1828. Hugh, a Clerk in Inverness, was tried and convicted at the Perth Court of Justiciary on 18th April 1817 for several acts of theft, he was sentenced to transportation for 14 years. Left England on 20th July 1817. Ship:- the 'Larkins' sailed with 250 male convicts on board of which 3 died during the voyage. Arrived on 22nd November 1817. Caledonian Mercury Saturday 26th April 1817 p. 3 Hugh Noble, alias Innes, and James Miller, alias Hugh Cameron, for three several acts of theft:- First, for stealing from the house of Grahame Speedie, Innkeeper, Methven, a silk shawl, the property of Janet Campbell, his servant. Second, For stealing from the house of John Sime, innkeeper, Brigend of Perth, a pair of silver sugar-tongs, by opening a press by means of false keys. Third, For stealing from the house of James Murray, vintner, South Street, Perth, a brown silk gown, a black silk gown, and a brown silk pelisse, from a drawer by means of false keys, the property of Mrs. Murray, his wife. Both pleaded not guilty. After a long examination of witnesses, the pannels were again interrogated, and pleaded Guilty. The libel being restricted, the Jury found the pannels guilty in terms of their judicial confession. The prisoners were sentenced to fourteen years banishment. On arrival he was assigned to Major Antill until 31st january 1818 when he was transfered to the Town Gang In 1820 Hugh married Ann Eliza Chapman (daughter of convicts William Chapman, 'Pitt' 1792 & Ann Marsh, 'Lady Juliana' 1790) at Sydney, they had 7 children between 1821-1833. 8th September 1821 he was listed as a Clerk in the Commissariat Department. 30th December 1822 he was employed in H.M. Stores, where he was accused of stealing from the Stores. 11th February 1823 he was on a list of prisoners transported to Port Macquarie per 'Lady Nelson', it is unclear as to the sentence he received or the date he was released. 18th April 1831 he received his Certificate of Freedom. In 1846, he was in trouble again, tried and convicted of stealing a horse and dray, he was sentenced to transportation to Port Arthur fo 10 years. Sydney Morning Herald Wednesday 11th February 1846 p. 2 Hugh Noble was indicted for stealing a horse and dray, the property of his master one John Payne Lloyd. The jury found the prisoner guilty, and he was sentenced to be transported for ten years.
