The Assizes at York were finished at the Crown End on Friday se'nnight, where the following persons have been tried, viz. John Ashton and Matthew Noble, for horse stealing; Carlisle Journal, 20 March 1802. ---------------------------------------------------- Last week the following male convicts left York castle, in order to be delivered board the Hulks, at Langston Harbour, near Portsmouth, viz. ... Richard Wilkinson, James Carrett, Matthew Noble, William Fenton, William Peele, and John Ashton, transported during the term of their natural lives. Leeds Intelligencer, 31 May 1802.
