New South Wales, Australia, Gaol Description and Entrance Books, 1818-1930 for Thomas Noakes Sydney 1834-1838 12/1/1836 From Wolverhampton England Trial H P Barracks. described as a founder The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW : 1803 - 1842) Thu 2 Feb 1837 Page 2 George Capsey and Thomas Noakes were jointly indicted for a highway robbery, putting in bodily fear, and stealing from the person of Mr. David Reid, a ono pound note, five shillings five sixpences, and a watch value £5 at Berrima on the 21 December. Capsey Guilty; Noakes, Not Guilty.- Capsey will be brought up for judgment this morning. (Capsey was executed 1837)
