Patrick Kennedy O'Brien, aged 28 years, convict per "Hive" arriving in 1835, Tried in Tralee, County Kerry Assizes of March 1835. Life sentence for cow stealing. No prior convictions. Farm Servant, Roman Catholic, Married with a son and a daughter. Can read. Native of County Kerry. Height; 5ft 4.5 inches, "brown" complexion, light brown hair mixed with grey [even though only aged 28!], hazel grey eyes. IRISH CRIME: Kerry Evening Post, Saturday 21 March 1835, p.3. TRALEE ASSIZES “On Tuesday last [ie 17 March, St Patrick’s Day] Patrick Kenedy O’Brien was convicted of stealing a cow, the property of Robert Hickson, of Ballyngown, from the fair of Tralee, in the month of December last, and sentenced to transportation for life.” [Kerry Evening Post, Saturday 21 March 1835, p.3.] In NSW: 1844 Ticket of Leave Number.
