Sherborne Mercury Dorset, England 27 Jan 1849: SHEEP STEALERS.__Three men, named James Plower, William Plummer, and John Oldfield, were committed for trial on Saturday last, by the magistrates, at the Bristol Council-house, on a charge of stealing a sheep, the property of Mr. Stone, of the Red Cow Inn, Bedminster. No ships found for Plower or Plummer. John Oldfield was listed as 28 years old on arrival. John was single, 5'5½" tall, dark hair, hazel eyes, fair complexion, stout build, horse on right arm. 31/1/1852: TOL 30/9/1853: CP 3/1/1854: Married Sarah Penn at Middle Swan, WA. Children: No Date: William Joseph 1854: Henry James 1857: Emma Louisa 1860: Caroline Amelia 1862: James William 1868: James Lewis 1870: Alfred Robert 1873: Frederick Lewis 1875: Sarah Amelia Sarah Amelia Spain, born 10/10/1830 at Margate, Kent, Eng., married George William Penn 10/10/1847 at Margate, Eng. Sarah died 7/4/1917, Mandurah, WA. 8/11/1900: John Oldfield died at Northam, WA. 22/12/1900 Western Mail, Perth, WA: OLDFIELD.-On November 8th, at Mount Dick, Northam, John Oldfield, aged 77 years. When Sarah died in 1917 there were 44 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren.
