Thomas Oldfield was tried at Manchester, Lancashire on 20 July 1786 for stealing three pieces of material with a value of 1 shilling. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Friendship aged about 24 at that time (May 1787). His occupation was listed as labourer or woollen dresser.He left NSW in 1793.
Partner in the original crime was sister Isabella Oldfield. Night watch member.
