National Records of Scotland: 1827: Precognition against Peter Oliver for the crime of sheep-stealing at Crichton Moss, Crichton, Edinburgh. Listed as 46 years old on arrival, he was born at South Dean parish of Roxburgh. Peter was 5' 10 3/4" tall, grey hair, small bushy grey whiskers, light grey eyes, fesh complexion, large hairy brown mole outside right Arm large scar right side of forehead long scar on fleshy part left arm. Wife at the head of the {Pleasants Harwell Close} Edinburgh Isabella Oliver, the oldest child 10 yrs old, I last had 7 Cows & kept a Butchers Shop in Edinburgh - Isabella and the 3 children must have come to Tasmania, as daughter Jane Oliver was born 1/7/1831 at GreenPonds, son, James C1833, Mary Oliver was b. Abt 1838, Tasmania, d. 10 Apr 1925, Parattah. 1830 Muster: Assigned to Mr. T. Anstey 1832- 35 Musters: TOL Peter lived at "Lilliesleaf" Parratah and was a farmer. 19/11/1859: Peter died aged 79, of Old age and Infirmity, listed as a farmer, informant was James, his son. 21/11/1859 The Hobart Town Daily Mercury: DIED At his residence, Lillies Leaf, near Oatlands, Mr. Peter OLIVER, in the 79th year of his age. The funeral will take place on Wednesday, the 23rd instant from his son-in-law's, Mr. James Weeding's, at two o'clock. As no circulars will be issued all friends are respectfully requested to attend. Isabella Oliver died 23/1/1864 aged 72, of old aged and infirmity, a widow, at Oatlands, Tasmania.
