1828 Census. (Image of form on Familysearch) Daniel O’ Neil, age 50, T.L. Indefatigable, 1818, Life, catholic, labourer, Parramatta. Daniel had 1 cow at Parramatta. Daniel signed the census form with X. Sarah O’Neil, age 50, C.F. Northampton, 1817, catholic. Wife of above. John O’Neil, age 18, CF. Morley, 1820, catholic. Son of Daniel. -------------------------------------------------- The information on the census form does not appear to be true. Sarah arrived on Northampton in December 1814, convicted for coining at Nottingham Assizes and sentenced to transportation for life.

Daniel O'Neal was born in 1774 in Down, Northern Ireland. He married Sarah McLean (Formally Sarah Thompson) in 1802 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire. On 19 Jun 1815 Daniel was transported for Life for 'High Treason: Coining'. His wife Sarah was found guilty on the same day of the same offence. Original sentence for both was Death. Sarah was transported on vessel "Northampton". Sarah's Vessel records in 1815 advise Husband Daniel O'Neal, 40, Occupation, Gardener. They had one child John born Abt. 1810 during their marriage. Daniel died on 18 March 1842 in Parramatta, New South Wales.
