George O'Neal was 20 years old when convicted at the Old Bailey on 30/6/1831 for stealing 1 coat 30s., 1 pair of trousers 10s., 1 pair braces 4d., 1 handkerchief 6d., 1 sovereign, 1 half-sovereign, 1 half-crown, 5 shillings and 6 penny pieces the property of Jeremiah Heffernan. George lodged with Heffernan. Found no records of George at all. Two mentions of George O'Neal on trove - in the Maryborough/Dunolly area of Victoria 29/6/1859 for pickpocketing from a miner and 12/7/1862 The Star, Ballarat, false pretences, 3 months imprisonment. No proof this was the above George though.
