Westmeath Independent Westmeath, Republic of Ireland 15 Jul 1848: Eleanor Onions, otherwise York—charged with stealing five or six shillings from the person of Corporal James Reed. Eleanor was listed as being 25 years old on arrival. Place of Birth: Westmeath County. Eleanor could read, was married with 1 child, Catholic, fair and freckled complexion, red hair, hael eyes, scar over right eyebrow. 18/1/1853: TOL 11/4/1854: TOL revoked - Absent from Muster. 25/4/1854: TOL 13/6/1854: Permission to marry Charles Bond (free) (Sir George Seymour 1845). 31/7/1854: Married at Oatlands Church, Charles Bond 32, labourer - Ellen Onions 32, Housemaid. Children: 1853: Catherine 1855: Elizabeth 1857: Mary Ann 1859: Laura Maria 14/3/1861: Charles William Bond - died from disease of knee joint & spine, and was buried on the 26/7/1887 at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery, aged 26. (9/9/1882 married Grace Harbuckle, a minor, registered at Hamilton). They had a son, George Alfred Bond, born 26/9/1884, registered at Oatlands. He died 7/12/1884, 10 months old, of Acute Bronchitis and Hereditary Syphilis. 1863: Alice Margaret 7/1/1897: Charles Bond died, aged 75, a labourer, of Senility. 20/11/1907: Eleanor died of senility at daughter Alice's residence, Mount Seymour, 80 years old, labourer's widow.
