On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. John Orams was 25 years old when convicted of burglary. Colonial Secretary Papers: ORAMS, John. Per "Mary", 1822 1823 Dec 10: On returns of convicts discharged from the Establishment, Emu Plains; to the Penrith Bench for assignment (Reel 6028; 2/8283 pp.177, 181) 1825 Muster: At Bringelly. 1828: Listed as John Ormes, in the No.16 Road Party. 1832: Ticket of Exemption from Govt Labor - torn up on his receiving a ticket of leave. 2/8/1832: Permission to marry Ann Donnelly (Burrell) aged 22 years - John Orams was 35 and had a ticket of exemption. 1832: Married at Campbelltown - John was listed as 'Grams'. No children listed. 1833: TOL - Campbelltown. 1837: TOL - Illawarra 28/8/1840: CP John may have died in Liverpool in 1864 aged 69, although Ann married or had children with someone called Hanlon or Hanley before 1857 - in 1857 Ann married William Wildgust (Barossa 1839).
